The first thing I do every August is stock up on some basics/essentials that I can wear now in the classroom and later. Being a teacher, I’m typically on a pretty tight budget and it feels good that J. Crew Factory shows their understanding and appreciation with a nice discount! The 4 things I try to remember when I’m doing my back to school teacher shopping are below! These are helpful when you get overwhelmed, or overly excited about all the cute items to choose from! Just a quick reminder as you shop at J. Crew Factory to make it easier on yourself:
- Mix + match: I love finding pieces that I can wear multiple ways. For example, this chambray top is probably the most versatile thing that I’ve bought + wear it at least 2x per week teaching! I paired it with a skirt in today’s post, but it also be worn over this dress or paired with any denim or these under $40 white pants!
- Comfort: Of course, being comfortable while standing on our feet all day teaching is a must! I always remember that I’m also bending down, sitting on the carpet with my students, etc, so comfort is key in shoes and clothing. I love the length of this dress and the comfort of these shoes.
- Affordable: Being a teacher means risking some of your cutest clothes for glue, markers, scissors, and whatever else will come your way. Something that is affordable yet good quality is always a good idea to keep in mind (that’s where J. Crew Factory comes into play!)
- One closet rule: This is something that I might have made up, but something that I live by. I try and mesh my “teacher clothes” with my “everyday clothes”. I’d hate to have to buy two separate wardrobes, so being able to wear clothes to school that I also wear on weekends is key.
