Today’s blog post is something that I’m super passionate about and something that has been highly requested by you guys… I’m SO excited to partner up with Walmart today to share my daily health and wellness routine (that is essential to all of those workouts you and I both do)! As you know, I love fitness and health, and if you’ve been following along on Instagram stories lately then you know I’ve kicked off the New Year strong with a 12-week workout program. There are a ton of you doing the same amazing workout program which has been so fun to connect, motivate, and hold each other accountable through it all! With that being said, it’s essential that we’re putting the right things into our body to achieve maximum results with all of our workouts.
My day starts off bright and early, with a cold glass of water mixed with Emergen-C before I eat my breakfast. Being an elementary school teacher, I need to ensure my immune system is the healthiest it can be, so Vitamin C is an essential. Fast forward to 3:30pm where I always eat an Oh Yeah! One Bar as an after school snack on my way from school to the gym. These protein bars are the best tasting bars on the market (with 21 grams of protein and less than 2 grams of sugar), and trust me…I’ve tried a lot of protein bars in my day 😉 My all time must-have, favorite flavors are Blueberry Cobbler, Birthday Cake, and Almond Bliss, but if you’re interested in trying them out in a variety pack, you can do that too!
After my evening workout, and yours too, it’s essential that you fuel your muscles to build and recover with protein! Walmart has the best organic protein powders, but my favorite is Orgain Chocolate Protein because it’s plant-based and tastes delicious. There’s also Orgain Vanilla Protein for those of you that love vanilla flavored shakes! FYI: If I’m planning on making dinner an hour or two after my workout, I’ll just quickly mix the protein powder with cold water in a shaker cup. However, if I plan on making an entire meal out of my protein shake after my workout, I typically will add frozen banana, spinach, chia seeds, almond butter, and almond milk. It’s so delicious and so filling, while also packing some of the best nutrients into one meal! Give it a try sometime 🙂
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I have a major sweet tooth. A couple months ago I started saving my vitamins to eat at the end of the day as a “dessert”. Let me tell you, it totally works!! 😉 It tricks my body into thinking the gummy vitamins are actually dessert, when in reality, I’m just eating delicious and healthy Women’s One A Day Daily Multi Vitamins and Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nail Vitamins. I have been taking these vitamins for about a year now, and have totally seen results (especially in the thickness and length of my hair)!
I love that Walmart.com has everything I need for my daily health and wellness routine to start 2018 off strong!
