….AND I’M BACK! If you saw on my Instagramover the weekend then you know I was incredibly thankful to be in Dallas for the 5th annual rewardStyle Conference that was held at Hotel Crescent Court! rewardStyle is the affiliate marketing company and platform that I use, but more importantly is the genius behind LIKEtoKNOW.it! You may see me mention LIKEtoKNOW.it frequently on my Instagram or here on my blog. That’s because it solves the “OMG where did you get that outfit?!” question by easily linking my products for readers like you to purchase! rewardStyle recently launched their new LIKEtoKNOW.it app which you can download for free in the App Store. The amazing technology allows you to screenshot a photo from Instagram and immediately open the app for ready-to-shop product details! A win-win shopping solution if you ask me 😉
The rewardStyle Conference (also known as #rStheCon) is an invitation only Conference where the top 200 influencers (or bloggers) in the world come together for 3 days of connecting and collaborating via brand meetings, learning from each other and industry experts in classroom sessions, networking, and celebrating our success at some amazing parties! I tried my best to take you along with me and share every part of the weekend on my Instagram Stories, but since the entire weekend was GO-GO-GO, I’m happy to be able to share a full recap of #rStheCon over the next few days here on Torey’s Treasures!
DAY 1: I landed in Dallas, took an uber to the hotel, and immediately was greeted by champagne and blogging babes. Keep in mind I had never met these girls in real life, only on Instagram, but they instantly felt like my friends! I received my personalized LIKEtoKNOW.it pink room key and headed up to my room where I met my roomie for the weekend, Brittany, from Loverly Grey. We immediately got ready and headed downstairs to shoot a couple looks with a photographer, before heading over to the Tulum inspired rooftop pool party hosted by Sole Society! I wore this cute OTS striped, flowy dress and accesorized with the perfect pom-pom clutch (on sale now). After the party wrapped up, we headed to a Mexican dinner close by, where I really got to know some other blogging babes! We basically closed down the restaurant at 11pm and headed back to our hotel for some much needed sleep in preparation for a busy Day 2!
As you know I’m a frequent self-tanner because of medical reasons (see post here) and because I love the way I glow when I appear “tanned”. Tanceuticals self-tanner is more of a smooth lotion that smells like a tropical vacation, and less like a sticky substance you’re ready to wash off. I’ve found that it gives me a great natural glow and keeps my skin super soft, appearing as if I just returned from a week-long tropical vacation under the sun in my bathing suit! Although I am naturally pretty fair, I have been using the “dark” shade recently on my face and body and have loved the glow it gives me! Another added bonus: it lasts for almost a week, just follow the simple instructions to apply.
PS: I’m currently in the airport headed to Dallas for the rewardStyle conference, so be sure to stay tuned on my Instagram Stories to follow along on all the fun adventures! Can’t wait to bring you along with me and all the other bloggers 🙂

Take a day hike in the local Santa Barbara mountains.
Barbecue at home and sit on the patio to enjoy.
Clean out my closet and donate bags of clothes + shoes.
Escape for a weekend getaway.
Read a new book in the shade at the beach.

If you’re curious where I’m going mid-week, yes it is Spring Break (woohoo!), and I’m en route to NYC for an exciting fitness collaboration that I can’t wait to share with you!! You can follow me along on myInstagram storiesto see more behind the scenes posts while I’m in the city! I’ll be heading straight from NYC to Phoenix to be with my boyfriend for a few days, so embarking on a back to back trip (with complete opposite weathers) this week called for some a lot of organization! I’m no travel blogger or travel expert by any means, but the more I travel, the more I learn! Without further ado, today’s post is all about packing + traveling must do’s to make your upcoming trip or vacation a seamless success and to make the most of your trip! Let’s get started:
Write down a general packing list a couple days before you leave. This way, if you think of anything throughout the subsequent days, you can simply add it to your list to avoid forgetting anything. Then, pack the day before you leave by rolling your clothes to avoid wrinkles and save suitcase space. When I pack, I will put all my clothes in my rolling suitcase, and reserve my duffel for shoes, toiletries, and hair products.
Lay out your travel outfit from head to toe the night before. I personally LOVE traveling in comfortable shoes like these sneakers, comfortable pants like these joggers, a cozy tee, and I always carry a jacket with me (those airplanes are always quite chilly). The best jacket to wear traveling in my opinion is a denim jacket because you can restyle it your entire trip!
Pack 80% neutrals. As much as I love to wear colors and patterns this time of year, it’s essential on vacation to pack 80% neutral clothing that will match denim, white/black pants, in order to mix and match everything in your suitcase.
Cell phone battery pack is a must. I recently received this Mophie as a gift and have been loving it! With limited wall sockets in the airport, it’s important your phone is charged up to access anything important via email or contact anyone you might be visiting or meeting up with.
Today is officially my 28th birthday, and it’s almost too hard to believe! I woke up feeling the same (haha), but realized that I’m definitely closer to 30 than 25 now…yikes! With that being said, I’m actually really looking forward to this year and truly believe that age is just a number!
In yesterday’s blog post I shared my birthday wishlist and today I’m excited to get a little more personal and share 28 things you may not know about me today on my 28th birthday! If you’ve been following me on Instagramyou may already know just a couple of these little facts, and if you just follow me here on Torey’s Treasures, I’m excited to open up to you so you can get to know me better!
Here we go…
I’m the type of person who always has to be doing something, always. I never find myself watching TV, or just hanging out, I have to keep myself busy 24/7.
My nickname growing up from my family was “Boogs”. My older brother claims it’s because I picked my nose (sorry TMI), but obviously that’s not true. Whatever the meaning behind it, it stuck and to this day my brother and dad still call me Boogs.
I originally started Torey’s Treasures as a hobby during the Summer to keep me occupied (see #1) and am so happy to see how far it’s come now! Thanks to readers like you 😉
I absolutely HATE tomatoes. I will eat ketchup and salsa, but can’t stand tomatoes.
I was diagnosed with Melanoma about 2 years ago (read the post here), and ever since have been terrified of the sun. I’m extra careful about wearing sunscreen daily and try to stay out of it as much as I can.
I am afraid of the dark. You can even ask my roommates! I always tell them when I walk outside to our laundry room at night, to send out a search party if I don’t return in 5 minutes.
I consider myself somewhat of an extroverted introvert. I’m very social but rarely go out! I recently read this articleand thought it was pretty explanatory.
My dream car is a White Land Rover. (We’ll see how far this teaching salary can take me haha).
A few adjectives friends and family would describe me as are: positive, hard working, kind, happy
I have THE absolute worst eyesight of anyone I’ve met. I first got glasses in 4th grade and contacts in 6th grade. My college graduation present was supposed to be Lasik surgery, however my eyes have continuously gotten worse since then so I have yet to receive the OK from my doctor. I hope I will be able to get Lasik before I turn 30!
I could eat breakfast anytime of the day. Pancakes are my absolute favorite and I will eat an entire stack of them no matter how full I am from my eggs and bacon. My boyfriend can attest to my 2 plate orders at brunch 😉
Speaking of boyfriend, we are in a long distance relationship and have been ever since we met. I went out to Arizona one weekend with a friend and we met through mutual friends at a Super Bowl BBQ. We hit it off big time that day, and have been dating ever since (2+ years)! We switch off flying to Phoenix, AZ and Santa Barbara, CA to see each other once or twice a month!
Growing up I participated in any type of dance you could thing of- ballet, tap dance, jazz, Irish dancing, etc. I even competed in some! That all changed when I went to high school and made the girl’s golf team. We went to the State Championship and received 2nd place!
I make my bed every single morning no matter what. There’s nothing better than coming home to a bed that’s made and crawling in to get cozy at night.
When I hear a song I like, I replay it over and over until I get sick of it.
I broke my arm when I was 2 years old, and the day I got the cast off, I tripped and fell, and broke it again.
I currently have an ocean view from my house and can’t complain 🙂
I workout 7 days a week unless I’m really sick or on a vacation. I love the feeling of being active, even if it’s something small, it keeps me going.
I get hangry if I don’t eat a snack every couple hours. I always have a protein bar or something with me just incase the hangriness starts coming on.
My first car ever was a Jetta- so cliche, but it was the best car which holds some fun memories!
I’m currently a 2nd grade teacher and love it! It’s the perfect age and I get a lot of hugs daily.
95% of the time I leave the house to go run errands or head to work I forget something. I usually come running back in for whatever it was I forgot and then leave for good.
I write an average of 5 to-do lists daily. I love the feeling of being organized and especially love the feeling of crossing things off my list the old school pen and paper way.
I do not like movies. I never watch them, never go see them, and 100% of the time fall asleep during them.
My biggest pet peeve is the sound of people chewing and eating. It gives me the chills and definitely makes me lose my appetite!
The one piece of jewelry I wear every single day is my gold initial Tiffany & Co. necklace that my parents gifted me once I graduated with my Teaching Credential + Master’s Degree in one year! I love the simplicity and meaning behind it and feel naked when it’s off (which is rare)!
I was voted “Best Eyes” in High School. They are still the bluest eyes I think I have ever seen!
I love all of my Torey’s Treasures readers and want to meet you all with a hug and thank you for reading my posts!
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and thank you so much for the birthday wishes! I appreciate all of the love and am thankful for everyone who made me feel extra special today! I’m SO excited to see what this 28th year holds for me and can’t wait for you to follow along on my journey!
